ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP):Minister of State for Energy Ali Pervaiz Malik on Wednesday said that gove
rnment is extending maximum relief to consumers of electr
icity using 200 units.
Talking to a private television channel, he said the prime minister has announced three months relief package for consumers using 200 units of electricity.
Under this initiative, he said the gove
rnment will provide fifty billion rupees subsidy for those consumers using less units of electricity. We are also working on transmission lines and after completio
n of this task, he said billions of rupees could be saved.
In reply to a question about circular debt, he said, the gove
rnment is facing 500 to 600 billion rupees circular debt issue. There is an urgent need to talk with power plants companies so that the matters of tari
ff rate could be reviewed in an appropriate manner, he added.
